Sensys wins procurement contract from the Swedish Transport Administration

26-04-2013

SENSYS Traffic AB has been notified of a procurement award decision from the Swedish Transport Administration stating that Sensys has won the procurement contract for new traffic-safety cameras in Sweden. This decision may be appealed during a period of covering the next 10 days. The contract concerns systems to a value of at least SEK 110 million.

Sensys' tender was evaluated based on an amount of SEK 414 million, which represents the total value of all components within tender, and does not represent any commitment from the Swedish Transport Administration beyond the current notified contract value. The full extent of any increases in the notified value over and above the SEK 110 million cannot be currently quantified.

The award decision covers the procurement of traffic-safety cameras to replace existing cameras, as well as the expansion of the number of traffic-safety cameras installed across the Swedish road network. Sensys' tender was the most competitive of those that fulfilled the procurement requirements.

During a period covering the next 10 days, tenderers may submit a request for a re-evaluation of the Transport Administration's award decision. Such requests shall first be considered by the Administrative Court before the Transport Administration may sign a contract with the chosen supplier. Sensys will make an announcement when the contract has been signed.

The contract will run initially for three years, with an option to extend for a further six years. During the first three years of the contract, the Transport Administration undertakes to purchase traffic-safety cameras for at least SEK 110 million in order to replace existing cameras. In addition, the contract will also cover periodical review and maintenance of the cameras and provision of spare parts, which are not included in the current notified contract value. Moreover, the contract will cover the replacement of other systems and a possible expansion of the current system with traffic-safety cameras.

"We look forward to establishing, together with the Swedish Transport Administration, a traffic-safety camera system on the absolute front line. We submitted the most competitive tender, and simultaneously received acknowledgement of our state-of-the-art technology, including the best photographic quality of the suppliers that fulfilled the Transport Administration's very high requirements," says Johan Frilund, CEO of Sensys Traffic AB.
